For twenty-some years I've worn a badge. For most of them I've also worn a collar. I've knelt next to officers the worst nights of their lives and next to community members the worst nights of theirs — and I've learned that those two calls come from the same kind of people, on the same streets, wanting the same thing: to be safe, to be seen, to be treated with dignity.
Most of America isn't policed by the agencies you see on the news. It's policed by departments with fifteen officers, one radio that's been rebuilt twice, and a training budget that ran out in March. These are my brothers and sisters. These are the departments who answer calls alone. They don't need more noise. They need equipment. They need training. They need someone to say we see you.
That's what One Badge Foundation is for. Not politics. Not posturing. Just officers supporting officers, and officers supporting the communities they grew up in.
If you believe — like I do — that good policing and strong community are the same work, I am asking you to stand with us. Your $1,000, your $10,000, your monthly gift — every dollar goes into a grant to a small department that needs it, tracked and reported back to you.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. God bless.
